The product configurator for sign shops
Customers configure substrate × dimensions × finish × installation — and submit ready-to-quote inquiries.
Signs are quoted by hand —
and that's where the margin dies.
If you cut, print, or fabricate custom signage, four problems quietly eat your day every single week.
Substrate questions become email threads
Foamex vs Dibond vs aluminum vs acrylic — each one prices differently per square meter and behaves differently outdoors. Customers email "how much for…?", and your designer answers instead of designing.
Custom dimensions break standard pricing
No two jobs are the same size. Per-job pricing is manual; per-square-meter pricing needs a formula. Spreadsheets help, until they don't.
Installation zones vary, but the website doesn't
Within-city, suburb, rural — different drive time, different rate. Your team has to ask "where are you?" before they can quote, and most customers won't answer until they see a price.
This is the actual widget.
Configure a sign right now.
Pick substrate, enter dimensions, choose finish, add installation. The price updates on every change — and the inquiry includes everything your shop needs to start work.
From sign spec to live configurator
in three steps.
Most sign shops ship their first configurator in an afternoon.
Define your sign
Sign = substrate × dimensions × finish × installation. List your substrates with per-square-meter rates, define finish options, bound the dimensions, and tag installation zones.
Set your pricing formula
Per-square-meter substrate, finish premium, rush-order surcharge, zone-based installation. Build it visually — same logic as the quoting spreadsheet your shop runs today.
Embed and ship
One script tag, one marker div. Inquiries land with full configuration, file uploads, computed price, and zone-aware installation — ready to schedule.
Built for the way signage
is actually quoted.
Everything you need to move from email threads to qualified online inquiries.
Formula-based pricing
Per-square-meter substrate, perimeter cutting, finish premium, rush surcharge, zone-based installation — recalculated on every selection.
File upload & artwork capture
Customers attach AI, EPS, PDF, PNG — whatever your shop accepts. Files travel with the inquiry to your dashboard, ready for production.
Live lead capture
Inquiries arrive with substrate, dimensions, finish, installation zone, artwork, lead time, and computed price. No clarifying email threads.
Inquiry & proof workflow
Status tracking from new → proofing → approved → in production → shipped. Turn any inquiry into a branded PDF proof in one click.
One-line embed
One script tag, one marker div, done. Works on WordPress, Shopify, and any custom HTML page. Doesn't conflict with the rest of your site.
Multi-language & teams
Per-language labels for every characteristic and value. Invite designers, sales, and ops staff with role-based access.
Questions sign shops ask first.
Can customers upload their own artwork files?
Yes. Add a file-upload field as a characteristic on the product. Customers can attach AI, EPS, PDF, PNG, or any format you accept, with size limits you control. The file is stored with the inquiry and surfaces alongside the configuration and price in your dashboard.
Can we let customers type text and pick fonts in the configurator?
Yes. Free-text characteristics let customers enter sign copy, and a dropdown of fonts lets them pick a typeface. The text length can flow into your pricing formula — for example, per-character or per-line surcharges for vinyl cutting. Final artwork can be auto-rendered for the inquiry preview.
Does it support a proof workflow before production?
Yes. Each inquiry has a status workflow you can extend — new, proofing, approved, in production, shipped. Send the PDF quote as the initial proof, then use the dashboard to track approvals. Customers can be looped in via email link.
Can we vary installation pricing by zone?
Yes. Add an installation characteristic with zones based on postal code, region, or distance bands. The formula engine applies the right surcharge automatically and shows the customer the installed total. The line item appears separately on the PDF quote.
Can we surface a rush-order surcharge?
Yes. Add a "lead time" characteristic with options like Standard, Express, Rush. Each option can apply its own percentage uplift or flat fee, and any option can hide other options that don't qualify. The selected lead time and surcharge travel with the inquiry and print on the PDF quote.
